About Us
Halo, apa kabar?
This is Danny. You might know me by my first name - Robertus - or if you knew me waay way back you might've called me Dancup.
I was diagnosed with mediastinal seminoma on Oct 2019, at the age of 24.
Back then, I received a lot of meaningful support from family, friends, friend of a friend, even strangers. While those were well-intended, I was overwhelmed with the amount of information that I need to digest, while also dealing with the fact that I got cancer; all in a very short period of time:
So, I created this website as a tool for cancer fighters and caregivers to navigate their journey in a structured way, at their own pace. This website will also provide guidance for their friends / relatives who might want to give them support, while also considering their current state of mind and best interests.
I named this website “Dan’s Compass” because:
It is meant to be a compass (guidance) for everyone involved in this journey
It represents our drive in building this website - compassion for others
Oh -- I said “our” above because I was helped by my designer and illustrator friends to turn this website idea into reality. They’re amazing - go check their profiles below!
